I think the big Scotties on High might be closed/closing.
There is a coffee shop with WIFI in downtown Powell, and they have space. I don't know about chairs, but they have a nice big space so we could fit ourselves in.
We'd probably want to strike up a conversation with the management first...

Depending on the size of the meeting, and the agenda, there's WIFI all over
Columbus.
This not averse to a trip north might enjoy the amount of space available at the Espresso Yourself Music Cafe in Powell, which is about 5 miles North of 270, not too far off Sawmill Rd.
Plenty of room, free WIFI, and okay coffee. http://www.espressoyourselfmusiccafe.com probably has a map. Their weekend music isn't unpleasant either.

If we're doing a geek-fest/presentation type meeting, I can host it. We've got tons of space, table and podium for anyone presenting, tables for all that are attending (w/ power for your laptops) big screens with ceiling based projectors etc.
We've hosted a few of the COLUG meetings here. It typically works out well.
Plenty of free parking too. Centrally located in cowtown (near riverside and 5th).
I have been buried in work, (I only seem to get to look at columbus.pm when I am on vacation), and my work doesn't include a lot of Perl. I would support a meeting anyone would want to plan or organize.
If we're not doing any powerpoint presentations, then
maybe a restaurant [with beverages] would be in order.
One where we could get a big table, or push a bunch of
small tables together.

Is We Is or Is we Ain't?
Perl 5.10 is out.
Anybody up for a meeting and maybe a presentation on what's new in 5.10?
Give me a week or two and I'll prepare a presentation.
Do we have a group, or have we all abandoned perl for J2EE and RoR?

Next Meeting
I was wondering if anyone was planning the next meeting for Perl Mongers in Columbus, OH? I would be interested in attending or even organizing it.
Thanks

How about something mildly kinetic?
How about Chalkies?
We could shoot a few games of pool and try
to organize a "technical" meeting.
There is a table tennis club opened on sawmill near the
Kroger north of 270.

Are we meeting socially, or to talk shop?

Re: Purpose
Unless someone has anything to present, we might as well go social.
